V-J Day in Times Square, New York City, 1945, by Alfred Eisenstaedt for Life magazine, "In Times Square on V.J. Day, I saw a sailor running along the street grabbing every girl in sight. I was running ahead of him with my Leica looking back over my shoulder. Then suddenly, in a flash, I saw something white being grabbed. I turned around and clicked the moment the sailor kissed the nurse...I took exactly four pictures. It was done within a few seconds."
He smiled in front of me as he usually did while my foot swung carelessly out the window. "You hate the smell," Matty said in remembrance and dropped the cigarette so it could fall to the floor. I shrugged my shoulders and looked up to him. "The smell is now associated with you so it's kind of hard not to go against it."
