Some parents, after working with a top interior designer, might not let their child ride a scooter through the house. But at this dramatically furnished Dallas residence by Michelle Nussbaumer, family comes first. "The children really have free rein of the place," she says. "They eat peanut butter sandwiches in the living room. Nothing is too precious."
A lot of folks had real cozy kitchens in the 50s - you sat at the table and played cards, colored, drank root beer floats. You were always close to being able to make a baloney or peanut butter and jelly sandwich hanging in the kitchen!
