Canada attempts to improve road safety:: Using chalk-drawn optical illusions. The idea sounds good, but there are too many possible problems. The biggest one is that drivers may soon get so accustomed to these Trompe-l'œil and ignore them. A day could come when a real child in the road gets run down as the driver assumes it is an illusion. Also, drivers may brake so hard and swerve around an illusion, and possibly hit a real pedestrian! Remains to be seen if they are effective.
What I like about this piece is the hand grip. If you take a magnified look at it, you will notice that there is a gradient slide to all the little white highlights in the center. From dark to light to dark. Nice effect.
