Puzzle template: Transfer this puzzle to a large poster, write a message on the back and cut out each piece in advance of this icebreaker activity.  Instruct students to write their name, write one goal and color the piece as you hand them out. This activity is a great way to tie in real world examples of rates, ratios, and proportions in the math classroom.  Students watch a short (classroom appropriate) clip of the popular movie "Mean Girls" and then are given the opportunity to work collaboratively to determine the calculations of day-to-day foods based on the nutritional label.
