On a recent trip to San Francisco, my friend Shannon Clark turned me on to Mavelous, a beautiful new cafe and wine bar San Francisco’s Hayes Valley. The decor is quite stunning and the espresso drinks are made using a wonderful see-through La Marzocco Espresso Machine featuring glass side panels that allow you to see the inside of the machine.
At this popular Spanish tavern on Main Street, brushed grey walls, geometric tile, and gleaming wood-topped stools provide a stylish backdrop for the chalkboard menu of pintxos (small bites popular in Northern Spain).
The La Zona Rosato is a blend from across the Mediterranean of two classic varieties the definitive Italian Sangiovese and noble Spanish Tempranillo grapes, which we grown on our Whitfield vineyard estate in Upper King Valley. The juicy strawberry notes of Tempranillo and the savoury cherry notes of Sangiovese makes for a light, fresh burst of fruit with some lovely textural elements on the finish to round out this distinctive Rosé style wine.
