Brides de Gala Arashi - Silk twill scarf, hand-rolled (90 cm x 90 cm). Arashi (‘storm’ in Japanese) is a variant of shibori, the word used for all resist dyeing techniques: knotting, folding, stitching and embroidering. Thanks to this traditional technique each scarf is unique, including this Brides de Gala Arashi scarf, printed in our Lyon workshops and dyed with natural indigo. Design Hugo Grygkar
Shibori spring scarf tutorial with color HUE dyes DIY. I have used the dyes. They are not like procion. They are liquid, you dilute them and they dye and react without mordant instantly. You can handle the item 5 min later. But, compared to Procion MX, they are expensive, but fun to play with, - especially on silk scarves. That is where I first used them with instructor Marlene Glickman. Check out her blog: http://silkdyes.com/ She has a piece that was commissioned by the US State Dept.
