A hike down the Kate Pace Way to visit my normal 'friends' the Nuthatches, Chickadees, and Red Squirrels had an added bonus on this snowy day, not 1 but 2 Snowshoe Hares. The first one in this photo was a regular to the area as I was told by the nice couple who pointed it out to me. It was down the trail about 100' from where I feed the birds etc. and pretty much stayed in this one spot the whole time I was out, which is why the snow was accumulating on it so much, a real Snow-shoe Hare eh!

This healthy looking Snowshoe Hare was still in the same spot it was sunning in about 1/2 hour ago but the sun had settled behind some hills so maybe it was just too relaxed to move. It didn't mind me taking photos of it or even talking to it on this day where on other occasions it would take off for its nearby shelter
