NEW ENGLAND CLAM CAKES 1 1/2 c. flour 1 1/2 tsp. salt 1/2 tsp. pepper 2 tsp. baking powder 2 eggs, beaten 1/2 c. milk 1 tsp. melted shortening 1 can minced clams (do not drain) 1/4 c. dry minced onions or 1 fresh onion, minced. Mix all together with spoon. Drop by teaspoonfuls into deep fryer (365 degrees). Fry until golden brown. #VisitRhodeIsland
One-pot dirty rice. I used a pasilla pepper instead of bell pepper, hot italian sausage and ground beef, uncle ben's rice so the grains wouldn't stick together, and adjusted the seasonings to use more smoked paprika, some sweet paprika, and aleppo pepper. It definitely had a kick of spiciness and I really liked it. 3.5 stars.
