Curandera Maria Sonora, known as La Huila was the mentor to Teresa Urrea, a famous curandera (Mexican Mestiza/Yaqui) who lived in Sonora and Arizona from 1871-1906.  Teresita was also known as La Niña de Cabora, Santa Teresa and La Santa.  Her life is memorialized in the wonderful book, The Hummingbird's Daughter, by Luís Alberto Urrea.
