Bill Haley's first hit was "Crazy, Man Crazy" in the first rock and roll song to hit the American charts reaching # With the Comets he recorded "Rock Around the Clock" in 1954 and "Shake, Rattle and Roll" later that year.
THIS DAY IN ROCK HISTORY: January Bill Haley and his Comets play two sold out shows in Newcastle, Australia. Not only is it the first time the group plays outside the US it's also the first rock show in the land down under.
I've included this picture because Willie Nelson is a great example of country music at it's best. If a band of country music were to look for inspiration, Willie Nelson would be a great icon to look up at.
