Ramps in the Science Center

What can preschoolers learn from ramps? How about the beginnings of motion, speed, distance...

Pre-Kindergarten Goals Sheet

This pre-kindergarten skill goal sheet is a one page sheet of typical skills that a student may learn. It is a fun and very visual way for the kids to see what skills they have mastered and document the child's learning. When a skill has been mastered, the child can put a sticker in the box.

The Crazy Pre-K Classroom: 5 Christmas Centers and a new TpT unit with a FREEBIE! - I especially like the idea of themed "sensory bins" where kids have investigative tools like magnifying classes, tweezers, etc. I would add (for fun) safety goggles and something else detective-y with a chart of the senses at the station encouraging kids to test out what the objects do.

Feather Painting

"If birds made marks with their tail feathers when they flew, think what the sky would look like" Painting with feathers process art- perfect with a bird unit!

Fisch's 'Gold Garden' pin (14K gold, rosewood, 1963). "Fisch began as a ceramicist and switched to jewelry because, as she recounted in an oral history, “I went looking in the community for a place to work, and what I found were jewelry studios…” Uninspired by “what you would see in jewelry stores,” she fell in love instead with imposing Egyptian and pre-Columbian ceremonial pieces."

What a cute idea to create fake snow in the classroom! This would be great in December for Christmas OR in January for a winter unit in any elementary classroom! {Particularly those that don't see snow!}

Vowel Word Cards and Puzzles

Free build a word mats! What a fun way to teach kids about vowels in CVC words. This would be a great guided reading activity or literacy center in kindergarten or first grade.
