On this day in 1975 : Led Zeppelin becomes the first band in history to have six albums on the Billboard chart at once: “Physical Graffiti (#1)”, “Led Zeppelin IV”, “Houses of the Holy”, “Led Zeppelin II”, “Led Zeppelin” and “Led Zeppelin III”. The Newport Jazz Festival started in 1954 and ended in 1972 after many years of crowds getting out of control. Police, National Guard and riots could be counted on as well as the top bands at the time from Billie Holiday in the 50's to Led Zeppelin & The Allman Brothers Band. I remember the tear gas and demonstrators at the Bristol Parade in 72 also. Those were wild times.
