Abbie, Brook, Chloe, David, Ellie and Faith enjoyed the loving arms of friends and family before they were seated at a table to munch on with cupcakes bearing their names.

Patti Wheeler, a longtime fixture in Birmingham radio before retiring in 2008, died today, according to the website of her longtime employer WZZK. Ms. Wheeler, 71, died at UAB Hospital following surgery for the removal of brain tumors.  For nearly 30 years, Ms. Wheeler co-hosted two of Birmingham's most well-known and highly rated radio shows. The first was "Patti and the Doc" with the late Tom "Doc" Atkinson. After that came "Patti and Dollar Bill" with "Dollar" Bill Lawson for 16 years.
