Grieving Mother: Where's My Baby Gone? Colebrook Home South Australia  Between 1943 and 1972 some 350 Aboriginal children lived on this site, isolated from their families. It is now a permanent memorial in remembrance of the Aboriginal children of the 'Stolen Generation' and their families. It was sculptured, by well-known South Australian artist Silvio Apponyi.

Sidney Nolan - Policeman in Wombat Hole The policeman is upside-down with his head stuck down a wombat hole.  Notice the little wombat between him and his rifle. See also the little lizard on his other side, and the magpie perched on top of his rifle. The patch of vegetation in the foreground on the left side of the picture is beautifully coloured and textured, although this cannot be seen to full effect in this image.
