Northern Shoveler

Hooded Merganser - Male (Lophodytes cucullatus) is a species of small duck. It is the only extant species in the genus Lophodytes. The bird is striking in appearance; both sexes have crests that they can raise or lower, and the breeding plumage of the male is handsomely patterned and coloured. The hooded merganser has a sawbill but is not classified as a typical merganser.

Wood Duck, Anatinae, Artic regions, South America, Africa, Australia, and North America. Lives in freshwater areas. Swans and geese are part of the wood duck family. The male wood ducks are shiny black and have short necks.

The Brown Creeper (Certhia americana). Brown Creepers, tiny woodland birds with an affinity for the biggest trees they can find.

American Coots swim like ducks, but they do not have the webbed feet of that species. Their toes have broad lobes of skin that allow it to easily move through water. The lobes fold back when the bird lifts its foot while walking to facilitate moving on dry land, but it still supports the bird's weight on muddy land. Nine American Coots were found in Central Park in this year's Bird Count.
