The Inheritance Effector is probably one of the most underrated and underutilized effectors in the effector menu. In part one of my Inheritance Effector tutorial, I show you how you can trigger or offset keyframed animation applied to an object that you cloned. This is an interesting technique which makes use of the Rate option on the Matrix Object and the Morph Motion Effect on the Inheritance Object. We take a PLA Object, trace it's vertex paths, make the Tracer editable and use the Matrix Object to move along those paths and with the Inheritance Object apply the animation back again on a still copy of our geometry. What good is that for you say? Well, take a look yourself :) If your object isn't as complicated as the Dinosaur in my example…

Second video about using MoGraph's internal Color system for Time Offsetting animated Textures in a MultiShader. This time I use a Formula Effector.

This is a follow up to my Quick Tip 05: How to affect any parameter with the Inheritance Effector in Cinema 4D (https://vimeo.com/19245852). Here's a screengrab which shows how to offset any parameter with pure Xpresso – so there's no need to utilize the Inheritance Effector anymore. The main concept behind offsetting animation is time-index. Have fun with it :-) (no audio) My xpresso presets: http://c4dtools.net/easysplash/ http://c4dtools.net/motext-fader/ http://c4dtools.net/rib...
