It was a celebration fit for a king! King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands celebrated King's Day on April 27 alongside members of the Dutch royal family. For his 49th birthday festivities, the monarch was joined by his wife Queen Maxima and three daughters (Princess Ariane, Alexia and Crown Princess Catharina-Amalia).

It was a royal day out for Queen Maxima and King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands. The King and Queen were arm-in-arm as they arrived to the Hall of Knights for Prinsjesdag – the state opening of parliament, which is traditionally held on the third Tuesday in September.

King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands was more than happy to get involved with the audience participation part of the Olympics Opening Ceremony. The 49-year-old was seen laughing and smiling as he waved his arms around during the four hour show.
