This building was the first silk mill in Belding. It was built by the Belding Brothers in 1886 and then immediately sold. Belding Bros & Co reacquired in 1907. Like all of the silk mills in Belding it was closed by 1932. I'm not sure what it did for the next 50 years, but in 1986 it was redeveloped into the Silk Mill Apartments. Today it's called Flats on the River.
The Pere Marquette Railway Depot in Belding, Michigan opened in 1921. In 1941 passenger service to Belding was eliminated. In 1994 the City of Belding purchased the building. The building is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
