Propagate new plants from cuttings. Rosemary, lavender, sage. Remove leaves on the bottom of stem. Place cuttings in glass containers with water in a sunny window. In two weeks, there should be roots sprouting. Change the water every four or five days. Add water daily if needed. After roots develop, dip roots in cinnamon or raw honey and plant directly into clean soil. Potting soil if indoors. Gardening soil if outdoors. Organic soil only for plants you eat.
If I ever have a pond with fish again I want to try it. It would probably drive my cats crazy though LOL (Use a heavy glass vase and invert it on some concrete blocks so they can swim in from the bottom. Submerge the vase and turn it up under water so the vacuum created keeps the water inside. Make sure you have a heavy glass container or the weight of the water will shatter it.)
Terrarium. To make a terrarium, choose a glass container with an opening wide enough for your hand. Gently add an inch or two of washed, fine gravel. Top gravel with a thin layer of activated aquarium carbon. (You'll find both items at your local pet store.) Next, add moistened potting soil, and you'll be ready to plant. Create a collection of plants, or showcase just one. Good choices include ferns, succulents, mosses, miniature moth orchids, African violets, and kalanchoes.
In a glass container, make a bed of polished stones or glass beads. Orient each bulb with its flat side down and position it atop the stone bed. After each bulb has been seated, fill the spaces between the bulbs with more stones. Fill the container with water to slightly below the base of the bulbs. and Enjoy.
