Acacia leprosa "Scarlet Blaze" The story of this red wattle is quite amazing. A freak mutation stumbled upon by horticultural bush walkers who found a single plant flowering in a Victorian forest reported their find to the Melbourne Botanical Gardens. Propagation material was taken from the original plant and grown on by licensed wholesale growers. Unfortunately the original plant died, but you can still find it in nurseries around Australia.
