Feeling the lateral raise in your traps instead of your delts? Save this post & use this cue next time you perform the side (lateral) raise 👇🏻 A lot of people initiate the movement by shrugging the shoulders when: 1. The weights are too heavy • 2. They’ve been executing it poorly from the beginning Next time you perform the lateral raise, instead of thinking of lifting the dumbbells “up”, think of lifting the dumbbells “out”, like you are dragging them against the walls. You don’t need heavy weights for this movement! Your traps will still be involved to some degree in this movement, but your delts should be doing most of the work!
