SUPER-CLEAN WINDOWS -- Our windows got a power washing today (SUPER-POWER washing, that is) thanks to Superman, Batman and The Flash from Superhero Window Washing of Fayetteville. The grime-fighting team came out to give us some free window-cleaning service and spend some time with our awe-struck kiddos as part of their community giving initiative.

Project Apple Tree - Thank You! -- Tomorrow is the first day of school, and, thanks to Project Apple Tree, our kiddos are ready to go! A HUGE thank you goes out to everyone who helped with this year’s Tree. Not only did we get school supplies and new clothing for the kids, we also received some touching notes from those of you who donated. Project Apple Tree is brought to you by Northwest Arkansas Mall, Hot Mix 101.9, KIX 104, KNWA and FOX24. What an awesome partnership!

THANKS to the Walmart Logistics team (represented by Trisha Risher and Patrick Fuller), who mounted the Need to “Pack My Stuff" Event (a luggage/backpack drive for our kiddos), which resulted in a staggering donation of 1,160 items. The team was moved when they learned that kids in foster care often carry their belongings from place to place in garbage bags, and they organized the donation drive to address the issue. THOUSANDS of kids will be helped by their act of kindness.

THANK YOU FOR SERVING, MR. BROOKS -- For six years, Steven Brooks has served faithfully on the Northwest Arkansas Children's Shelter's Board of Directors, much of that time as its Chief Legal Counsel. He rotated off the Board this month. We greatly appreciate his dedicated service.

Our kiddos had a great time today at the belated premiere of "Mr. Peabody & Sherman" -- which was hosted by movie sponsor CCF Brands and originally was set for March 5. CCF obtained rights to hold a premiere -- which would have made our kids the first to see the movie -- until a winter storm intervened. But the CCF Brands gang still gave a our kids such a special day, complete with red carpet photo ops, free popcorn and drinks, Mr. Peabody dress-up kits and a private screening of the 3D…

A CART FULL -- THANKS to Assembled Products in Rogers (manufacturer of Mart Cart electric shopping carts), who turned a photo shoot at Harps in Bentonville into a sizable donation for our kiddos. They filled the two carts they were photographing to the brim with groceries and non-grocery items to do a comparison of two different sized shopping baskets, for marketing purposes. And they brought all the contents out to the Children's Shelter when they were done. Our kids are very grateful.
