Dutch artist Cor Visser was one of the early members of the Rangers Art Club (the original name of the Orwell Art Club). In the Second World War, he was appointed official war artist to the Dutch Royal Family who lived in exile in London. After the Second World War, he lived on a boat by the Ipswich lock gates. He painted numerous watercolours of the River Orwell & the surrounding area. He lived in Fore Street between 1962 & 1982, close to the Co-op Education Centre where our meetings place.
