Tapati: A joroa set used to be essential as part of the wedding jewels of a Bengali bride, and this is as pure as joroa gets. The distinctive flowers, leaves and vines are all set with seed pearls, and an emerald is placed in the centre of the mukta-phul and another among the arabesques at the bottom, a pattern that's repeated in every part of the necklace. A triple-pearl-jhur fringe fills the whole lower edge and provides the otherwise western pave setting with a strong Indian idiom.
