This small (15cm long) life-size hand-pistol has been completely covered with the bones of small sea-birds (mostly Broad-billed Prions), rabbits, petrel, sparrow, and starling. The main skull is from a black-backed gull. The teeth are from cows and sheep and the trigger is a hedgehog’s jaw. It is mounted on two rods on a backing of recycled rimu timber inside a small glass fronted case. Like the Machine gun it can be removed for the rods for closer examination.

The bone model MP40 machine gun is 83cm long and its wooden interior frame has been completely covered with animal bones including rabbits, swan, hedgehog,barracuda,broad-billed prion, petrel, harrier hawk, possum, cat, sheep, black-backed gull, shear-water and the extinct moa.
