Moth laying and feeding on petunias  Attached are two photos of a pretty moth who appeared in our Nelson City garden at 4.15pm today (23 Feb). She was laying eggs on petunias in hanging baskets, both on the open flowers and the leaves, and also feeding on the flowers. The first photo shows her laying eggs, the second one shows her feeding. The caterpillar transformation took place about 4:30pm today. When I gently tried to push the skin away, it appears fully mobile but attached to the cremaster. Do I need to worry about this or just leave it alone? Also, I have tipped the box 90 degrees so the chrysalis is hanging/suspended rather than hangin down the…
