Mixed Media Girl here. In this video, I'm going to be making some awesome earth-colored alcohol ink and resin dominoes. I'm using Mixed Media Girl Artist Resin and before starting the project, I preheated the resin by placing my bottles in front of a space heater for about 10 to 15 minutes before mixing them. I then filled up my mold about halfway with my resin and then went to town with the alcohol inks. I'm using of brands of alcohol inks including Pixus, Ranger, and Pinata and like I said, I was going with earthy tones for this. So, I went with some yellows, some blues, some greens and then some oranges and I put white in the middle in between these. Once I was done getting my colors into the resin, I took a stick and I swirled them around. You don't have to do this but I think it makes it pretty awesome and it's really just fun to control the design a little bit better once again just me so go ahead and swirl if you'd like or you can just leave them and then you are going to want to get rid of the air bubbles in a silicone mold I do not ever recommend using a torch you will ruin the mold unfortunately most times so you can either use a heat gun or some isopropyl alcohol get rid of those air bubbles then you're going to let that first layer cure and then add your second layer of resin. I let it cure for just about twenty-four hours or so and then the second layer I do all one solid color. So in this case I did a beautiful green that I thought went along with them. Let that cure for about another twenty-four hours or so. And then you're ready to the mold. And look how gorgeous these are. Um so you can see because of the solid backing we it doesn't matter. You can play with them. Nobody will be able to tell which is which. Um then on the front you've got this really really really gorgeous design you can see that there's little bits of resin on the sides don't worry about that it comes right off here I'm using an oil paint marker to fill in the dots and the lines and I just like oil paint markers I think it works better it gives just a little bit of a better look and you can get them from Amazon really really inexpensively and then once you have put your dots and lines in there you're going to take some isopropyl alcohol and wipe off any excess marker actually a really quick and easy process and it just creates a very very beautiful look for your dominoes and you of course don't have to use white you could use whatever color of marker you'd like for the dots sometimes I do gold sometimes I do silver and here's how the whole set looks complete so just plain gorgeous hope you guys enjoy this video thanks for watching I'll see you all next time
