COB mortar and cordwood log ends. For those who seek an alternative to portland based mortars, here is a good one. By using a 4" bead of cob mortar on the inside and outside, the center cavity can be insulated and thereby improve the insulating factor of a cobwood wall. This one is being built in BC. Note the splits and rounds and the very well done random patterning.
