A range of shellfish and edible seaweed, such as dulse and sloak was gathered from the rocky shoreline. A brown seaweed known as leathach, ‘wrack’ was cut from the rocks and then mixed in with boggy soil from the mountainside to form a homemade fertiliser for the potato crop. Seaweed was also dried in the sun and then burnt at a low heat in shallow pits. The ashes were known as Kelp and soda. Kelpwas sold to town merchants.
Thai Chicken Salad with Spicy Peanut Sauce. This recipe is amazing! Change a couple things: saute seasoned chicken (the marinade wasn't very good and took too much time), less soy sauce in peanut sauce and add a little sriracha.
Keep your beverage dispenser flowing by lining glass pebbles along the bottom. It prevents fruit bits and pulp from clogging the spigot and also raises the beverage level so you don't need to tip to get the last drink out. Also, if you put the pebbles in the freezer first, they'll help keep the beverage cold. Genius!! ❊
