Frances Hodgkins ‘Loveday and Ann: Two Women with a Basket of Flowers’, 1915. I love this painting: the use of colour and combination of texture and pattern. I also enjoy the contrast between the areas that feel drawn and the very painterly parts: it is an oil painting but appears to be handled almost like pastel in some areas (especially their faces).
