Fingerprint Birds - Taught this to 1st graders. We used watercolor pain to make the spots on the first day (each student made at least three paper strips of splotches). The second day we outlined them in sharpie and added the details to make the splotches into birds, mice, and pigs. If the students made more than three strips, they could choose an animal for the last strip.
Sub Binders
This sub binder contains all the information any person would need to know to run your classroom efficiently. It includes an Introduction, procedures, classroom management, schedules, seating charts, school map, emergency procedures, etc. I think that this is a great idea to keep in your class while you are out so that the management is the same and the students are still learning!
Flashback to Third - Is this Fair?
FHE! Tired of hearing, "That isn't fair!" This activity is a great way to help children understand that fair isn't when everyone gets the same thing...it's when everyone gets just what they need. All you'll need for this lesson is a big box of Band-Aids and some time for class discussion. Love the simplicity and impact of this lesson!
