a person is squeezing an orange into ice cubes
Science Saturday – Eggstreme Science
Cool science experiment for kids! Dissolve egg shell off with vinegar and it will become a "naked egg" that can bounce... this is so much fun I did it in 7th grade
the process of making an ice cream sundae is shown in four different stages, including pouring it into mason jars
Root Beer Float Science
Root Beer Float Experiment for solids, liquids, and gases--any science that involves drinking a root beer float at the end I am more than willing to try!
there are many different colored balls in the bowl
How to Make a Bouncing Polymer Ball
Make your own bouncy balls from scratch. This is a ridiculously cool science experiment.
a can of red bull energy drink next to a glass full of milk and ice
Red Bull and Milk Reaction
pour whole milk and add red bull - let sit 5 minutes and the acid in the red bull will cause the protein in the milk to separate - liquid changing to solid!
a plastic bag filled with water sitting on top of a cement floor next to a person's feet
Summer Bucket List: Fizzy Explosion Bags
Exploding bags with baking soda and vinegar-science lesson. They take off like rockets!
a plastic doll sitting on top of a metal tray next to a bottle of liquid
Science Experiment: Elephant Toothpaste
a plastic bag filled with water sitting on top of a cement ground next to plants
Bag Bomb
This cool experiment is kind of cliche, but a great way to introduce the states of matter since the kids somewhat know what happens already.
the states of matter are shown in this diagram, with water and ice cubes
States-of-Matter Infographic. This would be a great poster to have in the classroom during a matter unit. Has definitions, terms of change, and explanations of molecules.
an open book with pictures of different things on it and the words sound written in black
Three States of Matter!
I would use this idea to inspire creativity among the students while learning about solids, liquids and gasses. They can think of their own object that contain those properties and as long as they have the properties correctly identified and the molecules spaced in the correct form they reveal that they understand the content.
a diagram showing the process of mixing liquid in a flask or beakle, and how it works
States of matter
INFO SHEET... about the states of matter. Anything that has mass is made up of matter – an all-encompassing word for atoms and molecules that make up our physical world. We describe this matter as existing in states (sometimes referred to as phases). Most people are familiar with three states of matter – solids, liquids and gases – but there are two more that are less commonly known but just as important – plasmas and Bose-Einstein condensates.
