Beacon Of Light
The Kincardine Lighthouse on Harbour Street, Kincardine, Ontario, Canada was built into the bank of the Penetangore River in 1881, and serviced a busy fishing and local salt shipping industry. This octagonal wooden tower is the only "downtown" lighthouse on the Bruce Coast. The lighthouse stands 74 feet tall, and is built above a 2-story keeper's house. It is open in the summer months with a guided tour of the interior.
