In my opinion, a good design must most importantly be eye catching. It must be something that makes you stop and look and think "I want that." Most of the time, or at least in my case, it must be unique and different. When I see something that looks "cool" or out of the ordinary, I become interested. I am not as intrigued by something I've seen time and time again.
