SOCIAL GATHERING AT THE BERKINGS: This photograph was taken in about 1913 of a group of people mixing socially reportedly at the holiday home of Rudolf Berking and his wife at the time, Caroline Berking (nee Netzler), at ‘Foxtrot Beach’, as the Apia community called it, which is on the coast some kilometres east of Apia. A number of people can be identified including the Swann sisters sitting on the first step beside Peter Fabricius, (left to right), Mary, Maggie, Peter and Aggie.
