I loved the way these two wolves posed on the log together. I snapped several images of the two of them but I really liked this moment when something caught their attention that only their senses could detect. Both turned their heads at the same time and their stony gaze and ear position is perfect...such a beautiful moment.

Two wolves from the pack of eight at the Haliburton Forest and Wildlife Preserve. The captive wolves roam a 15 acre wooded enclosure and have minimal contact with humans. Photography and Viewing is only through one way glass and sightings are hit or miss. This day I was fortunate to see all 8 wolves. Haliburton, Ontario, Canada

A different kind of Black & White - Winter photo tour in Yellowstone this past week! We started the trip with wolves hunting Bison, and ended with this unbelievable encounter. This is the Wapiti Lake Pack, coincidentally photographed on the evening of the super red "Wolf Moon". The white wolf on the right is the alpha female of the pack.
