three white vases sitting next to each other on a black surface with the lights turned on

The "Aerides" product family is the result of research and experimentation with different folding techniques for sheet materials. In order to explore the boundaries of paper lighting products, I worked with basic origami folding techniques which ensure a ...

‘dodecahedronic chair’ by hiroaki suzuki japanese design student hiroaki suzuki has been researching functional applications for polyhedral geometry in product design. the result is his ‘dodecahedronic chair’. for the design, suzuki carefully calculated each angle with 3D CAD software, verifying the overall structural strength and stability of the chair by producing models made of paper […]

an image of many different shapes and sizes on a sheet of paper that is printed out

Some of my old folding experiments. See a video of them in action here I think the first one is what people call a waterbomb tesselation. Number 3 and 6 I think are usually associated with Ron Resch. I dont know if 2, 4 and 5 have been documented before. Number 2 has a surprising very slight single curvature when fully folded, which is associated with the near packing of tetrahedra I wrote about here: spacesymmetrystructure.wordpress.com/2007/07/20/an-unexpe...

Resonant Chamber Resonant Chamber, an interior envelope system that deploys the principles of rigid origami, transforms the acoustic environment through dynamic spatial, material and electro-acoustic technologies. The aim of rvtr is to develop a soundsphere able to adjust its properties in response to changing sonic conditions, altering the sound of a space during performance and creating an instrument at the scale of architecture, flexible enough that it might be capable of being played.
