The palette of this quilt was inspired by nature, and the pattern by the traditional sawtooth star block. The fabrics in this quilt are all naturally dyed; I used logwood, avocado, onion skins, indigo, quebracho rojo, turmeric, and iron to achieve the pigments. The quilt top is made of quilting weight cotton, and the quilt back is made of a heavy linen. This special quilt was machine pieced and hand quilted. Quilt measures 72"x71"
