Queen Victoria's gold, diamond and sapphire coronet, designed by Prince Albert and made by Joseph Kitching, London, 1840-42. Now in the collection of the V&A Museum. It is to go on display at the museum in 2019. The coronet was made using stones which came from jewellery given to Victoria by her uncle and predecessor William IV and his queen Adelaide.

Designed as a series of twelve graduated cushion-shaped sapphire and old-cut diamond clusters to the openwork frame of diamond-set swag and husk motifs, embellished with bouton-shaped pearls and diamond line borders to the pear-shaped pearl finials and sapphire collet accents, mounted in silver and gold, circa 1890, inner circumference 54.0cm.
