Stockholm-based architecture firm Ulf Mejergren Architects (UMA) used thousands of recycled plastic bottles to create a façade system for an art school in Tulum. UMA architects decided to raise the issue of saving the environment in their project. Addressing the half-million tonnes of Mexico's plastic waste that ends up in the ocean every year, they decided to use this plastic waste in a new façade system that is itself a visual example of an environmental problem. #architecture#design
