A detail shot of the back of the brooch. You can see the brass hinge and catch as well as a third brass post that I use to balance the piece so that it does not lean forward while being worn. The small square window contains my personal hallmark while the larger open square window is for Cynthia to "sign" the piece. She usually makes a cane for this space and presses it in behind the mosaic. The round bezel-type thing at the top is to attach a bail so that the brooch can be worn as a pendant…
