Originally built as legendary banking tycoon J.P. Morgan's private library, it houses a preeminent collection of rare books, artwork, and illuminated manuscripts, such as three copies of the Gutenberg Bible, the first book ever to be printed on a movable type press in 1455. In addition to ongoing exhibitions of medieval and Renaissance artwork, contemporary artists like Matthew Barney have also shown their oeuvre in this majestic turn-of-the-century space.

After what seemed like the longest winter ever and, at least here in Boston, record amounts of snow, it is wonderful to be able to bask in the warmth and light again.
