Analysis: This picture represents Gatsby as a martyr of killed and destroyed dreams. All Gatsby wanted in his life was to marry Daisy and this dream was crushed towards the end of the book. As soon as Gatsby realized his dream of marrying Daisy was no longer achievable, his life lost almost all meaning and to him everything completely changed. In this was, Gatsby represents a martyr of destroyed dreams.
