Bungo is a yellow rabbit with a UK accent. Bungo looks like Percy the Small Engine and loves to make signs and put them all over the jungle. He is very good at geography and knows the jungle better than anyone. He is also the only wheeler that is good at jumping - he can leap many times his own height into the air. Dozer is a bull construction worker. He is also a bulldozer and is the only character with caterpillar tracks. His name and shape derive from a Bulldozer. His talent is digging and repairing roads with his dozer blade.and was born in May the 3rd known as Pearlyvan.

Animals

Toadhog is a grumpy toad who likes worms and Fifi flies and doesn't smile. He has a long, sticky tongue that can shoot out a long way to grab things. His name derives from Road Hog - an inconsiderate or selfish motorist. He also seems to be responsible for Jungle Junction’s power supply - his water wheel powers the generator for all of the lights (including the traffic lights) and he has a supplementary generator that is used to power the Zipsmas lights.

Crocker is a fire chief crocodile. Crocker has some skill at gardening and knows how to make compost. His name comes from the phrase, "An Old Crock" which is UK slang used to describe many second hand cars. He speaks with a lisp because of his teeth. He is a heroic character, who spends a lot of time up in the lookout tower of the fire station scanning the horizon with his binoculars searching for fires. Hippobus is a yellow hippopotamus with a Jamaican accent and the same age as Carla and Crocker. Hippobus drives the Beetlebugs to school. Her name is a made up compound word of Hippopotamus and Bus. Hippobus is a yellow hippopotamus with 4 wheels. She has small eyes with eyelashes, tiny ears and big black nostrils. She also has windows so passengers can see outside.

Miss Jolly is a zebra school teacher. Miss Jolly teaches the Beetlebugs their lesson. She wears glasses and has black and white stripes. Miss Jolly has a black tail and hair. She has yellow lights and 4 wheels. Miss Jolly is a zebra with a UK accent.

Carla is an orange koala Carla looks like Emily the Stirling Engine and owns a retailing grocery shop and she's also good at baking. Her name seems to be a simple rhyming alliteration based upon the car stem. It still doesn't explain why an animal found only in Australia would speak like an extra from The Golden Girls.
