Sonia Bukhgalter on Instagram: "It's been a while since I've done some water gilding! This ancient technique is not easy and any number of things can go wrong during the process. Believe it or not, I actually learned water gilding with real gold leaf before I learned to use imitation leaf. I am lucky to have my years of experience to draw from in order to get the best result. And what a great way to show off the amazing gift of Moon gold leaf that was sent to me by @giustomanettibattiloro ! Their gold is amazing and this shade in particular is just stunning 😍 I have been using their products for years so I was overjoyed when they sent me some Moon gold and 24kt gold to work with! This painting is part of a diptych called Dusk and Dawn.
