Birthday 2014

My birthday week has started! I can't seem to just celebrate it on the day. It usually takes a week to fit everyone and everything in! My actual birthday is on 28th Aug. Starting from last night (Sunday night) my lovely friend Mel took me into the city for dinner at Mamasita, a Mexican restaurant. We had a lovely night and managed to get home in one piece! Goldwork Forest

This large scale forest embroidery was commissioned for a private interior project. Taking almost 600 hours to complete, this piece created a magical addition to a clients master bedroom, brining the essence forest surrounding the property inside. Working with one of the UK’s last remaining metal thread makers I explored how a variety of copper threads could capture the feel of branches, vines and trunks, combining to create a scene of seven trees, each with their unique personality.
