Our Preschool Study of the Stars continues with constellation-inspired sensory play. The Constellation Sensory Bag is a great way to provide hands on learning about the night sky, perfect for toddlers and preschoolers. A great fine motor skill challenge.
Our home made practice Poi. Cheap knee high socks with tennis balls. Two pair are weighted with coins on the inside--they do swing better. I weighed them on a food scale to make sure the weight was even. Easy to make a cut in the ball...they swallow up the coins and regain their shape after. We found that by knotting the tops we could slip our middle fingers through so that we could rotate our hands and not have to hold on. The seven year old learned how to spin and cross fairly easy!
