Timeless by Susan Harrison-Tustain. www.susanart.com Watercolor on Arches 300gsm paper. The timelessness of ancient marble captivates and inspires me. The cracks, the seams that meander their way through the ancient stone all add to the characterful patina is like nature's cloak. The rose is ephemeral but we await her timeless beauty each spring. www.susanart.com

'The Bird Feeder' Watercolor. Arches Hot Pressed Paper by Susan Harrison-Tustain I discovered my little friend in a quiet corner in a beautiful garden. I returned to the garden some months later - and felt surprise & initial disappointment - as in reality the garden statue did not have the same character that I had been able to infuse into my painting. I learned that our paintings bring a new reality as they also capture our emotion. A rather lovely notion don't you think! www.susanart.com

'I Didn't Hear you Leave'. Oil on Belgian Linen. By Susan Harrison-Tustain. Cool light amongst a warm, earthy, almost monochrome interior guides the eye to the furrowed pillow and the rumpled sheets. Some one has left this place of sanctuary. There is a subtle and gradual awareness that this painting is really about him - not her. Oblivious, she is lost to that delicious moment - just as we emerge from our dreams. http://www.susanart.com

'Gliding By' Watercolor on 300gsm Hot Pressed paper. Painted by Susan Harrison-Tustain. Swirling reflections created by a gentle wake belie the urgetn paddling of webbed feet beneath the surface. Beads of water glisten in the waterproof down and beaks, telling a story of the sparkle of youthful tom-foolery as the two young larrikins sashay amongst the reeds. A painting reflecting playful innocence and tranquility. www.susanart.com

Windfall. Watercolor on 300gsm Hot Pressed watercolor paper. Painting by Susan Harrison-Tustain. The heady aroma of fermenting apples filled the air on this Fall morning in Maine. It seemed appropriate to place a richly juicy over-ripe apple to symbolize the "seasons of mists and mellow fruitfulness". I wanted to capture the feeling of being there. I could see the unfolding history of this beautiful sea farer's home -within each layer of paint. www.susanart.com
