Liver and bacon with onion gravy. This recipe calls for using ketchup in the sauce, which I will not use, subbing for the same amount of tomato paste instead. If you caramelize the tomato paste until it turns a darker red, it gives the sauce a taste of something that has cooked for a longer period of time. I also will add a splash of red or white wine to the sauce, right after I caramelize the tomato paste.
