We don't do a lot of wildlife shots. But this photo on the coast between the #Herekino and #Whangape Harbors/Harbours in the Far North of New Zealand is the exception. This picture demonstrates just how high seals can climb, despite being better designed for swimming.

There is something special about the sun hitting the sand after the sea has receded and the small pockets of water that has been left behind to glisten. It could be anywhere but it's David's beloved #Herekino Harbor/Harbour (depending on your spelling :) ) in the Far North of New Zealand.

Earlier this year we were visiting the ‪#‎FarNorth‬ of ‪#‎NewZealand‬ with Jennifer's parents. We stop for lunch at a cafe overlooking the ‪#‎Hokianga‬ Harbor and the community of Omapere. This is one of the photos we took. This photo really does not do justice to the amazing beauty of the Hokianga Harbor. It is one of the hidden gems of New Zealand.

It was a lovely summer day when we went in search of the largest Kauri tree in New Zealand called Tane Mahuta (Lord of the Forest). Here is a relatively young Kauri tree in the Waipoua forest in #NewZealand. Kauri trees can live for thousands of years and grow very tall. This one still has a lot more growing to do. — at Waipoua Kauri Forest.

Cape Reigna at the northern tip of New Zealand is where the Tasman Sea meets the Pacific Ocean in a swirl of color and currents. It is one of the most significant cultural sites for the native Māori people.

This photo was taken during our recent visit to the Far North of #NewZealand. It is not your usual summer shot, but early in the morning, the hot and cold air mixed and this is what we got.

We've been hosting Jennifer's parents on their first visit to #NewZealand. This photo shows Jen's parents standing next to New Zealand's tallest Kauri tree called Tane Mahuta (Lord of the Forest) in the Waipoua State Forest. They look tiny against the tree (they are in the bottom center of the picture).

Flying into airports in rural #NewZealand you get to observe scenes such these, with wide open spaces. With the right weather conditions it feels like a sight seeing trip rather a simple commuter flight. This is a photo taken from our recent trip to the the Far North of New Zealand with Jennifer's parents who are visiting from the US.
